Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — As MarSU continuously gears towards innovation and entrepreneurship, Marinduque State University (MarSU) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with LMG Food Products Corporation on November 8, 2024 at the OP Conference Room, MarSU Boac, Marinduque.

This partnership is part of the implementation of the ongoing DA – Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) – Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (ACEF)-funded project “Establishment of MSC Fishery Technology Business Incubation” located at MarSU Gasan Campus.

The MOA outlines a strategic collaboration between MarSU and LMG Food Products Corporation to leverage the university’s resources and expertise in technology and business development. This partnership is expected to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary support to transform their innovative ideas into viable business ventures.

Under the agreement, LMG Food Products Corporation will play a crucial role in mentoring and providing industry insights to incubatees, enhancing their chances of success in the competitive market. The corporation’s extensive experience in the food industry will be invaluable in guiding start-ups through the complexities of business operations, from product development to market access.

MarSU’s FTBI program is designed to offer a comprehensive support system, including access to state-of-the-art facilities, technical assistance, and business development services. By integrating academic knowledge with practical industry experience, the program aims to create a conducive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.

The signing ceremony was attended by key officials from both MarSU and LMG Food Products Corporation composed of MarSU President, Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta, together with Dr. Alexander Pascua (Project Leader, MarSU FTBI) and Asst. Prof. III Wilfredo Q. Villavicencio, Jr. (FTBI Manager), Ms. Lilia M. Galang (LMG Food Products Corporation President and CEO) , Mr. Shernan M. Malinao, (Operations Manager) and Ms. Imee M. Gomez (Corporate Secretary).

The representatives of both parties expressed their optimism about the partnership’s potential to drive regional growth and create new opportunities for students and local entrepreneurs. They also believe that combining the industry expertise with the university’s academic resources, they can create a robust ecosystem for start-ups to thrive.
