Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — A seminar for mental health and well-being was launched on April 18, 2024 as part of the celebration of the CIT days, aiming to destigmatize mental health issues and promote accessible treatment options. The significant event started at 2:21 pm, at the MSC Gymnasium, Boac, Marinduque.

Dr. Rosalyn J. Dasco, Rosalyn Janda-Daso, RGC, CMHA, Director for the Student Programs and Services, served as the esteemed Resource Person of the said activity, participated by all CIT students from 1st year to 3rd year levels.

During the seminar, the speaker gives awareness about the basic needs for every student’s mental health as well as detailed information about emotional intelligence or quotient (EQ), intelligence quotient (IQ), social quotient (SQ), and adversity quotient (AQ). The speaker talked about stress, and she said, ” No matter how stressed you are, remember how blessed you are”.

In the middle of the event, the speaker plays an activity entitled Choose a Shape, featuring the options of a triangle, square, circle, and heart. Each shape carried symbolic meanings, offering participants a glimpse into their personality traits. The seminar was a rich source of wisdom and awareness, enlightening participants on how to identify common mental health symptoms, recognize warning signs, and explore strategies for overcoming mental health challenges.

The event concluded at 4:34 pm, with a certificate of recognition presented to Dr. Dasco, for her invaluable contribution and expertise extended in making the seminar meaningful and helpful for all the CIT Students.

An energetic intermission number added a vibrant touch to the seminar’s proceedings, wrapping up the event on a positive note.
