Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — As change drivers in the academe, MarSU took part in the Intellectual Property Roadshow for Creative Industry and IP Helpdesk in Marinduque on July 9, 2024 at Tahanan sa Isok, Boac, Marinduque. The said activity is hosted and organized by the Department of Trade and Industries as part of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Week Celebration.

The participants of the activity comprised Marinduque creatives and innovators who were oriented on the rights and protection of their original works. Additionally, DTI Marinduque emphasized to them that all of their creative talents and works deserved to be protected, and learning essential information about IPR is one of the major steps to take.

MarSU faculty members, Dr. Randy T. Nobleza-Director-Island Innovation Academic Council representative, Ms. Gladys San Juan-IQA Admin Officer, and Dr. Menandro Merlin-IQA Director were present during the activity.

Moreover, DTI MIMAROPA held an official turn-over ceremony of the Shared Service Facilities for the Food Testing Center at MarSU main campus. MarSU, one of the valued stakeholders and partner in championing research and innovation in the province. DTI Regional Office Director Rudy Mariposque and his counterpart DTI Provincial Director Dr. Roniel Macatol with MarSU key officials led the turn-over ceremonies. They were graciously hosted by the College of Industrial Technology led by its Dean, Mr. Mario T. Mascarenas.

DTI has granted MarSU various equipment for food analysis and storage along with other mechanical equipment as part of their commitment in helping researchers and MSMEs in the province attaining quality and globally competitive products.

MarSU is truly one with DTI in making change for the advancement, promotion, and industry and trade growth in the Philippines.
