Manila, Philippines — The meeting commenced with Ms. Maria Joan C. Ocampo, the Current Clinical Coordinator for National and International Linkages from the College of Allied Health Science and Head of International and Foreign Student Services under the Office of Student Affairs and Service of Marinduque State University as she presented our current program offerings to potential German partners from Globale Arbeitskräfte Lösungen GmbH, including Yaron Tamir (CEO), Inbal Shoval (COO), Marian Rath (German Language Teacher), and Ester L. Mercado (Coordinator). The meeting was held on January 22, 2025 at the Shangri-La The Fort, Manila.

In line with the directive from University President Professor Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta, this session highlighted the university’s unwavering commitment to international partnerships and the development of global healthcare opportunities for students. The discussions centered on ways to enhance our programs and align them with international standards, ensuring our graduates are well-equipped to thrive in diverse healthcare environments around the world.

For the past two years, German language has been a key component of our foreign language curriculum, emphasizing the importance of multilingualism in preparing students for global success. This integration of two years of German language training is critical in opening doors for students to pursue international careers, especially in healthcare sectors that require cross-cultural communication and language skills.

The conversation was further enriched by the contributions of Vice President for Student Affairs and Services and Concurrent Dean, Asso. Prof. Marvin P. Plata, and Asso. Dean Joy V. Malilay and Mr. John Carlo Mogol, Assistant to Dean for Administration, all of the College of Allied Health Science. Their insights were invaluable in exploring how the university can continue to innovate and expand its curriculum to meet the growing demands of the global healthcare sector, strengthening the ties between our institution and international partners.
A standout moment of the meeting was when Mr. Deiniel Ornedo, one of our students currently enrolled in the German language program, confidently introduced himself in German. This not only demonstrated his language proficiency but also highlighted the significance of the German language training as a key element in preparing students for international success.
With such initiatives, Marinduque State University continue to work toward our mission of creating pathways for our students to excel on the global stage, building bridges between education and international career opportunities.
