Makati, Philippines — Marinduque State University (MarSU) reaffirmed its commitment to global academic collaboration by actively participating in the Philippines-British Columbia Partnership Series: A Deep Dive on Higher Education Partnership Opportunities. Held on March 4-5, 2025, at the 28th Floor Kitchen Studio of Makati Diamond Residences, this prestigious event gathered academic leaders, policymakers, and representatives from various Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to explore avenues for institutional cooperation with British Columbia, Canada.

Representing Marinduque State University were International Relations Director, Jholey Rose R. Leaño-Lancion, and Head of Student Mobility, Maria Joan Ocampo, who engaged in meaningful discussions on academic and research collaborations, student and faculty exchanges, and transnational education pathways. The university’s delegation emphasized potential partnerships in Healthcare and Nursing, Social Work, Agriculture, and Education—fields crucial to both nations’ development.

Under the visionary leadership of University President, Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta, MarSU continues to expand its internationalization initiatives, ensuring that its students and faculty gain access to global opportunities that foster academic excellence and research innovation. The university’s participation in this series underscores its proactive stance in building strong international linkages, enhancing cross-border knowledge exchange, and equipping its academic community with global competencies.

Marinduque State University extends its profound gratitude to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), through CHED-International Affairs Service Director Atty. Lily Milla, and the British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE) representatives for making this collaboration possible. As MarSU strengthens its global engagements, it remains dedicated to nurturing partnerships that drive societal progress, elevate research and innovation, and position its students and faculty at the forefront of international academic excellence.
