Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — The Sorsogon State University paid a courtesy visit to MarSU President, Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta on March 31, 2025 at the OP Conference Room, Boac, Marinduque, for the Benchmarking Visit to MarSU Gasan Campus.
The benchmarking visit toMarinduque State University – Gasan Campusshall include its project extension beneficiaries, such asKKM CooperativeandBuenavista Bagoong Cooperative scheduled on March 31 – April 1, 2025.This visit aims to facilitate discussions on our ongoing STC4iD project, exchange best practices, and explore potential areas for future collaboration.
For short context, the Sorsogon State University has an ongoing DOST-PCAARRD-funded extension project titled”Empowering Fisherfolks through the S&T Community-Based for Inclusive Development (STC4iD) Modality in Barangay Behia, Magallanes, Sorsogon.”This project aims to promote inclusive development while establishing sustainable livelihoods based on aquatic and natural resources (AANR).
MarSU officials led by PDPZ together with Dr. Ma. Edelwina M. Blasé (VPRE) and Dr. Evangeline B. Mandia (Research Director) welcomed the team. Faculty from MarSU Gasan, Mr. Regie F. Mampusti and Mr. Wilfredo Q. Villavicencio, Jr. were also present together with VPRE personnel Ms. Ella Joy Marbello (SRS I) and Ms. Johs Salvador (EDRA II).
A traditional putong was rendered to SorSU team which was composed of Ms. Lynn C. Mendoza (Campus Director/ Project Leader), Ms. Elden G. Orgela (Program Chair, Fisheries/ Technical Expert), Ms. Mae H. San Pablo (Coordinator, Quality Assurance/ Extension Expert), Mr. Estephen L. Barliso (Economic Expert), Ms. Larina D. Burton (GAD Expert), Ms. Julie Ann C. Orgela (Admin Aide II), Ms. Cherry B. Burton (Admin Aide IV), 5 SRBCC Members: Ms. Marinelle Belen Leray, Mr. Virgo Buelo, Ms. Marit Hendrano, Mr. Vincent Morales and Mr. Levina Dreo.
