Boac, Marinduque, Philippines —Marinduque State University (MarSU) Gender and Development (GAD) conducted the Gender Statistics Forum 2025 at MarSU Lounge on October 24, 2025.

With the theme ‘The Power of Gender Data in Instituting Change,’ the activity aimed to emphasize the importance of gender data in promoting equality and guiding policy development within the university.
Dr. Maria Morena V. Santos, GAD Focal Point Person, opened the forum with her welcome remarks. VPAF Atty. Crispin Francis M. Jandusay then delivered an inspirational message as representative of University President Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta. The keynote speaker, Ms. Gemma N. Opis, Chief Statistical Specialist of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)–Marinduque, led the main discussion about ‘Ways to Improve Data and Evidences for Gender Policies and Innovations.’

Participants included members of the MarSU Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System. This was followed by an open forum and concluded by Atty. Arlyn R. Retardo, Head of Legal Services.

Through this initiative, MarSU continues to champion gender awareness and inclusivity—anchoring its advocacy on the power that transforms data to create meaningful and lasting change.
