Maramag, Bukidnon, Philippines — Marinduque State University President, Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta, together with Dr. Evangeline B. Mandia and Dr. Jason R. Paragamac, participated in the 2025 International Conference on Social Development and Sustainability and the Philippine Human Ecology Consortium (PHEC) Conference held at the Farmer’s Training Center, Central Mindanao University (CMU) on November 18–19, 2025.

With the theme “Social Development and Sustainability for Human-Ecological Well-being,” the two-day event gathered researchers, faculty members, and development practitioners to discuss issues on social development, environmental resilience, and community-based sustainability.

Day 1 featured plenary discussions and parallel sessions on social innovations, disaster risk reduction, climate adaptation, cultural heritage, and inclusive development. The MarSU delegation actively engaged in knowledge-sharing and strengthened networks for future research and extension collaborations.


Day 2 opened with a synthesis of the previous day, followed by plenary sessions that explored ecocultural livelihoods and inclusive tourism, social and ecological determinants of health, and food and nutrition systems for human ecological well-being. Open forums and afternoon parallel sessions continued across various CMU venues. The conference concluded with a final synthesis and closing message calling for stronger collaboration among universities and highlighting the vital role of higher education institutions in promoting human-ecological well-being.
Their participation underscores MarSU’s dedication to supporting programs that strengthen sustainability efforts, deepen academic collaboration, and contribute to the well-being of communities.
