Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — Marinduque State University (MarSU) marked a historic milestone on December 19, 2025, with the unveiling of the MarSU Icon and the State of the University Address delivered by President Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta. The event, coinciding with the Year-end Employees’ General Assembly, celebrated a year defined by transformation, recognition, and direction.
President Zulueta reflected on MarSU’s journey from its transition as Marinduque State College to its rise as a full-fledged state university, emphasizing collective efforts in human resource development, infrastructure, internationalization, and student achievement.
Academically, MarSU excelled in licensure examinations, achieving a 73% overall passing rate—well above the national benchmark. Nursing posted a perfect 100% passing rate in May and 95% in November, Accountancy first-time takers achieved 100%, and strong results were recorded in Social Work, Engineering, Fisheries, Agriculture, and Teacher Education. The University ranked among the Top 10 nationwide in the LET Secondary level and earned the 1st EQUATE Award for Excellence in Teacher Education. A graduate also secured Top 3 in the Electronics Technician Licensure Examination.
Graduate employability was another highlight, with a 69.07% employment rate surpassing targets, while enrollment grew to 10,094 students—a 5.34% increase across four campuses. Quality assurance advanced with 73.33% of programs accredited, including one at Level IV, complemented by President Zulueta’s recognition as the 1st Manuel T. Corpuz Outstanding Quality Champion.
Research and extension also flourished, with 80 outputs presented nationally and internationally, 11 adopted by industries and communities, and 3,316 beneficiaries trained through extension programs. Global engagement expanded through conferences and missions in Vietnam and Canada, fostering international collaboration.
Financial stewardship was exemplary, with a 98.29% budget utilization rate, top GAD budget performance nationwide, and inclusion in the Times Higher Education World Impact Rankings and Top 400 World University Rankings for Innovation.
The MarSU Icon now stands as a symbol of the University’s enduring commitment to excellence, innovation, and service.
