Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — In a bid to promote active and healthy lifestyles, Congressman Lord Allan Q. Velasco has generously donated a complete set of pickleball equipment to Marinduque State University on February 1, 2025. The donation in 2 sets includes paddles, balls, and a portable net, providing MarSU academic community with the opportunity to engage in this fast-growing sport.

MarSU officials led by its President, Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta expressed their gratitude for the congressman’s support, highlighting the positive impact the donation will have on the community. Together with PDPZ were Atty. Crispin Francis M. Jandusay (VP for Administration & Finance), Dr. Gerald M. Pajanustan (Sports and Wellness Head), Mr. Mark Nel Pardilla, Mr. John Ryan Leaňo, and Mr. Bernice Jacob Garcia.

Pickleball, a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, has been gaining popularity worldwide. It is known for its accessibility, making it an excellent choice for people of various skill levels and ages. The donated pickleball set will be available for use at the MarSU gymnasium, where everyone can participate in organized games and open play sessions.

Aside from the promotion of pickleball, this is also in line with the preparation of MarSU being the host for the upcoming Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (STRASUC) 2025 where pickleball is included in the STRASUC events.

With this initiative, Congressman Velasco continues to demonstrate his commitment to the well-being and development of his constituents. The community eagerly anticipates the positive changes this donation will bring.
