Boac, Marinduque – The 125th Anniversary of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) officially kicked off at Marinduque State University (MarSU) on Monday, marking the beginning of a month-long celebration. The event’s theme, “BAWAT KAWANI, LINGKOD BAYANI: PUSO, DANGAL AT GALING PARA SA BAYAN,” highlights the values of honor and excellence in public service.

Despite the rainy weather, the event was a success, bringing together students, faculty, non-teaching personnel, and officials to honor the civil servants. Dir. Jacinto C. Mateo III, Director II of CSC Field Office-Marinduque, attended the ceremony which reinforced CSC’s strong support for the university.

The program included a prayer led by the SIKLAB Chorale, followed by the Philippine National Anthem performed by the MarSU Brass Band. Mr. Joshua Aaron M. Pagulayan led the Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas, while Ms. Bernadette N. Del Prado recited the Panunumpa sa Bagong Pilipinas and Ms. Mae Kristine C. Ogayre delivered the Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan.

Atty. Crispin Francis M. Jandusay, Vice President for Administration and Finance, delivered a message on behalf of University President Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta, in which he emphasized the university’s commitment to excellence in service.

The ceremony continued with the community singing of the Civil Service Hymn, MarSU Hymn, and Bagong Pilipinas Hymn, featuring a dance performance from Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education students. The event also included a symbolic release of butterflies and the launch of the Physical Wellness Program, introduced by Ms. Erma E. Reyes, Acting Chief Administrative Officer.

The month-long celebration will end with the Dangal ng MarSU Awards Night on October 3, honoring outstanding civil servants and university contributors.
