Likhai art exchange to take place by August 30 to September 2

Boac, Marinduque – the first ever culture and arts festival is going to take place towards the end of August and early September in time for the national history and language month along with creative industries month celebrations. In partnership with Union Locale, Provincial Government of Marinduque, Department of Trade and Industry and Alitaptap Artist Village presents Likhai Art Exchange. Featuring at least 14 workshops for the four day of traditional, digital, art show and music festival.

Through August 30 to September 2, there would be following workshops involving local artists, students and creatives: installation art, sculpture, painting, sound art, mural painting, cultural and music performance, classical guitar, theater, poetry, photo and video event coverage, content creation and documentary filmmaking, short film, digital graphic and design with digital modern comics.

The main theme for the said art exchange is “celebrating the diversity of Marinduque’s artistic talents.” According to the social media postings of Likhai Marinduque, it features a series of artist talks from some of the most influential and innovative voices in the industry. In addition, there be a series of simultaneous workshops for local participants to get hands-on experience and practical skills. The program flow is designed to maximize learning and networking opportunities.


Some of the esteemed workshop facilitators are the following: Bokeng Ancanan, AJ Manuel, Dennis delos Santos, Jon Romero, AG Saño, Joren Lansang, Bobby Balingit, Arden Tuazon, Soliman Cruz, Titik Poetry, Thal Ruin Photography, Khalil Versoza, Arvin Belarmino, Verlin Santos and Johnny Paradox and Tonio Maicon. Likewise, they would be joined by several local artists and creatives from Marinduque towns such as Marinduque Artists, Litera Club, Santa Cruz Artists with Marinduque Island Ambassador with Hearts Council.

Likhai Marinduque is also brought to you by several Rotary Districts and clubs in Marinduque, the office of Provincial Administrator, and district office of Marinduque representative, in cooperation with Marinduque State College and Marinduque National High School.
