Boac, Marinduque, Philippines —The Marinduque State University Alumni Federation (MARSUAF), formerly known as the Marinduque State College Alumni Federation, Inc., successfully elected its new set of officers for 2025–2026 on August 25, 2025, at the CAHS Building Conference Room, MarSU Boac Campus.

Alumni representatives from various campus associations and local chapters participated in the voting process, facilitated by the Election Committee. After the counting of votes, the following were elected as the new set of officers:

  • President: Ms. Carmencita Laus
  • Vice President: Mr. Ryan B. Pielago
  • Secretary: Dr. Verna Liza L. Capiňa
  • Treasurer: Dr. Paloma D. De Chavez
  • Auditor: Ms. Maricel P. Go
  • Public Information Officer (PIO): Ms. Jholey Rose R. Leaño-Lancion
  • Business Manager: Mr. Arnold R. Basas

They will serve alongside the newly elected Board of Directors representing the MarSU Integrated High School, Gasan, Torrijos, Boac, and Santa Cruz Alumni Associations.

The following day, August 26, 2025, the Oath-Taking Ceremony was held at the MarSU Lounge. University President Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta administered the oath of office to the new set of officers. In his message, Dr. Zulueta highlighted the importance of alumni federations in sustaining MarSU’s legacy and supporting the university’s growth. He urged the new officers to lead with integrity and transparency, reminding them that true leadership is measured by service and the ability to inspire.

The ceremony, facilitated by Asso. Prof. Marvin P. Plata (Vice President for Student Affairs and Services) and Dr. Merryrose R. Palma (Head, Alumni Relations Office), also served as an opportunity to recognize the contributions of the outgoing officers, who were commended for laying a strong foundation for alumni programs and partnerships.
