Cavite, Philippines — Marinduque State University (MarSU) proudly participated in the 3rd International Conference on Research Inclusivity and Sustainability (INCRIS) held from April 23 to 25, 2025, at De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, alongside various international universities and organizations. Researchers, scholars, and educators from different countries gathered at this significant event to share their research and innovations aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

One of the plenary speakers was Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta, President of Marinduque State University and PHILARM, represented by Asst. Prof. Jholey Rose L. Lancion. His presentation, titled “Strengthening Global Partnerships for Sustainable Development: Collaboration, Innovation, and Impact,” highlighted the critical role of building strong, innovative partnerships in advancing sustainable development efforts globally.

During the parallel sessions and paper presentations, the MarSU delegation showcased their research excellence: Awarded as Best Presenter: Asso. Prof. Evangeline B. Mandia (Dean, College of Environmental Studies) Paper Title: “Revisiting the Policy and Political Structures Shaping the Marcopper Mine Disaster, 20 Years After.” Awarded as Best Presenters: Asst. Prof. Jholey Rose R. Leano-Lancion and Asst. Prof. Jerome L. Lingon (Faculty, College of Arts and Social Sciences) Paper Title: “From Words to Action: Elevating Barangay Secretaries’ Communication Skills Through an Extension Program.” Presenter: Prof. Ma. Edelwina M. Blasé, Ph.D. (Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training) Study: “Freeze-Dried Abalone (Haliotis asinina): A Source of High Protein and Minerals.” Presenter: Asst. Prof. Jholey Rose R. Leano-Lancion (Director, International Relations Office) Paper: “Negotiating Identities: The Academic Mother in Competing Discourses.” Presenter: Mr. Harvey P. Portento (University Lecturer, College of Agriculture) Research: “Narrative Structure of Science Fiction Films on the Social Well-being of Nursing Students in Marinduque State University.”

Marinduque State University also served as a co-organizer of the conference, enhancing its reputation as an emerging global academic partner. Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta, MarSU continues to expand its global reach through active partnerships and international collaborations. MarSU, through its International Relations Director, Asst. Prof. Jholey Rose R. Leaño-Lancion, engaged in discussions with prestigious international institutions, including Christ University (India), Hanoi National University of Education (Vietnam), Kasetsart University (Thailand), and De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, exploring potential partnerships and collaborative initiatives.

The university’s strong presence at the 3rd INCRIS stands as another significant milestone in its continuous pursuit of academic excellence, international collaboration, and contributions to sustainable development.
