Boac, Marinduque, Philippines —The oath-taking of the newly hired and promoted Marinduque State College employees was successfully conducted at the MSC Audio-Visual Room, Tanza, Boac, Marinduque on March 4, 2024.

In line with the implementation of the Revised Organizational Structure and Staffing Standards for SUCs (ROSSS), the newly hired and promoted employees assume their duties and posts effective this 1st quarter of 2024 that would complement the non-teaching workforce of the college. Additionally, the result of the reclassification of faculty positions in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) (DBM-CHED JC no. 3, s. 2022) is approved and set to be implemented which as well would complement the teaching workforce of MSC.

Truly a momentous occasion for the entire MSC community, the event was hosted by Mr. Raoul J. Magcamit-Vice President for Academic Affairs. The activity was filled with congratulatory messages which were given by Atty. Crispin Francis M. Jandusay-Vice President for Administrative and Finance, Asso. Prof. Marvin P. Plata-Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, and Prof. Ma. Edelwina M. Blasé-Vice President for Research and Extension.

Subsequently, SUC President III, Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta led the oath-taking and was assisted by Ms. Erma E. Reyes-Supervising Administrative Officer & HRMDO Head. Among the newly hired and promoted employees of MSC were the 42 administrative personnel, 8 – Instructor I (new hire), and 73 under the faculty reclassification.

In addition, messages of commitment and gratitude were also given by the newly hired and promoted employees as a sign of their unwavering dedication and service. Dr. Grace M. Labatete representing the promoted Associate Professors who mentioned during her speech that every employee must be committed not only to their duties and responsibilities but the commitment to our main clients which are the students of MSC.

On the other hand, Dr. Christopher J. Rebistual representing the promoted Assistant Professors, highlighted in his message the bigger light of innovation and excellence. He also expressed appreciation for the full support of the administration for this another milestone in the academic community.

Furthermore, Mr. Joshua Aaron Pagulayan represented the promoted Instructors pointed out that as a future university that is aiming for innovation and excellence, every employee is expected to remain firm in their service.

For the non-teaching group, Atty. Arlyn Retardo emphasized in her message the trust with unwavering dedication and commitment. She added, “Greatness is not achieved overnight but through learning from failure”. Moreover, Ms. Jaene Montiano gave her sincere thanks to the people behind the success and all the support systems for this promotion as she recalled all of her experiences in the past years.

Whereas, SUC President III, Prof. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta gave his inspirational message and words of challenge emphasizing the importance of unity and purpose amidst diversity to achieve the success of the future Marinduque State University. As he said, “Kayo at ako ay iisa, magtulungan tayo at mahalin ang isat-isa”. Further encouraging everyone as he expressed that failure is one great step to success, “Mamali kayo ng paulit-ulit at bumangon”.

After the congratulatory message of PDPZ, the Ceremonial Signing of Appointments followed. Before the activity finally concluded, all of the employees recited the “Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan” to signify their pledge of commitment and dedication to the new duties and responsibilities as public servants.

The event was closed with the heartfelt singing duo of Ms. Sheryl M. Podra and Pres. Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta rendering “Handog” by Florante.
