Gasan, Marinduque, Philippines — The Marinduque State College Association of Administrative Personnel, Inc. (MSCAAPI), in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA-Marinduque) and Kalakasan at Sigla ng mga Kababaihang Nagkakaisa (KaSiNag), successfully held Project 1 of the YAKAPATID initiative, an outreach activity dedicated to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the BJMP Gasan District Jail, Brgy. Uno, Gasan, Marinduque on December 22, 2025.
With the theme “Tunay na Diwa ng Pasko: Pagbabahagi, Pagmamahalan at Pagpapasaya sa Kapwa”, the program embodied the spirit of Christmas through compassion, solidarity, and joy.

The program hosted by Mr. Abet Faundo started with an opening prayer led by Ms. Ladymay M. Logatoc, setting a solemn and hopeful tone for the activity, followed by the welcome remarks delivered by Asst. Jail Warden SJO2 JENNIFER N. PEÑACERRADA, expressing gratitude for the partnership and support extended to the PDLs.
Mr. Nowell P. Maac (President of MSCAAPI), Ms. Kristine Montaron-Lastra, who represented Ms. Susan A. Nace (President of PICPA-Marinduque), and Dr. Maria Morena V. Santos (President of KaSiNag) delivered inspirational messages who all emphasized the importance of unity, generosity, and uplifting lives during the holiday season.

After that, gift-giving and interactive activities brought smiles and laughter to the PDLs, fostering a sense of belonging and shared celebration. Additionally, hot meals were served to the participants.
From a PDL representative came a heartfelt testimony of appreciation, expressing how the YAKAPATID Project rekindled hope and joy among the participants. The representative shared that beyond the gifts and activities, what truly mattered was the sense of being remembered and valued by the community.

SJO3 JOSE ODYSSEUS G RODAS delivered words of gratitude, affirming the collective commitment to continue meaningful outreach and empowerment programs.

The YAKAPATID Project exemplifies the collaborative spirit of MSCAAPI, PICPA-Marinduque, and KaSiNag in extending compassion beyond institutional walls. By reaching out to PDLs, the activity not only celebrated Christmas but also reinforced the values of inclusivity, dignity, and shared humanity.
