Laguna, Philippines — The Philippine Association of Research Managers, Inc. (PHILARM) held its 2nd Board of Directors Meeting, on January 24, 2025, at the DOST-PCAARD Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna.

Prof. Diosdado P. Zulueta, Marinduque State University President and National PHILARM President chaired over the proceedings, guiding the discussions with fruitful insights and exchange with the body.

Among those in attendance were the newly elected National Officers and Board Members of PHILARM, along with Cluster Representatives from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), as well as representatives from national government agencies. Additionally, other members virtually participated ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue.

The agenda commenced with an opening prayer, followed by a call to order by Prof. Zulueta and a roll call of attendees. A heartfelt message was delivered by PHILARM founder and senior adviser Dr. Rogelio V. Cuyno, setting a positive tone for the gathering. The meeting proceeded with the approval and adoption of the agenda, which included the Treasurer’s Report, new Membership Applications, and the approval of minutes from the January 10, 2025, meeting.

Among the new business items that highlighted the gathering were the formal turnover and oath-taking ceremonies, presided over by the outgoing PHILARM National President, Dr. Melvin B. Carlos (2022-2024), and important updates on the 6th International Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Management Congress, presented by the PHILARM Secretariat, Asst. Prof. Ms. Jholey Rhose Leaño.

In recognition of his dedicated service, Dr. Carlos was awarded with a plaque of commendation. Discussions on other important matters briefly followed.

As the official transition of Prof. Zulueta’s leadership commences, the event not only marked a significant milestone in PHILARM’s history but also symbolized a new beginning among the new members who were welcomed by the Board of Directors and Cluster Representatives. Marked as one of the momentous occasions, Dr. Melvin Carlos handing over the reins to PDPZ as the new president paves the way for exciting developments ahead for the organization.
