Boac, Marinduque — Marinduque State University’s College of Agriculture (CA) and College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (CFAS), through the International Relations and Linkages Office (IRLO), proudly led the 4th Knowledge & Cultural Exchange Series of MarSU ASEAN Fridays 2025: From the Heart to the World in partnership with Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand, and Romblon State University (RSU), Philippines on August 29, 2025 via Gmeet platform and Fb Live.

With the theme Agriculture and Fisheries for Sustainability, the culminating session was formally opened with remarks from Prof. Dr. Ma. Edelwina M. Blasé, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training of MarSU. This was followed by official messages from Asst. Prof. Dr. Suriyan Tunkijjanukij, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries at Kasetsart University, and Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani, President of Romblon State University, both affirming their commitment to advancing agriculture and fisheries education and fostering regional collaboration.

The discussions tackled sustainable agriculture and fisheries, student enrichment and on-the-job training experiences, climate change impacts, and the sustainable management of species such as the Giant Squid in Marinduque and the Big-eyed Scad in Romblon Passage. The session also highlighted Thailand’s fishing practices, folklore, and culture—truly an enriching exchange of knowledge and cultural perspectives.

To cap the program, Assoc. Prof. Harvey A. Dulay, Torrijos Campus Director of MarSU, delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of sustaining partnerships and strengthening global academic linkages for the benefit of communities across ASEAN.
