Boac, Marinduque, Philippines — As part of the mandates for the development and preservation of Filipino identity, the Office of the Provincial Governor signed the Executive Order no. 014, s. 2024, an Order Re-organizing the Provincial Council for Culture and the Arts (PCCA) its Composition and Functions in Marinduque.
The EO states that the PCCA shall formulate policies and plans for the enrichment and sustainability of Marinduque’s unique cultural heritage; formulate programs and recommendations to develop local culture and artistic talents; ensure the protection, preservation and conservation of the local culture and historical heritage; in coordination with the private sector, the academic and other NGAs, conduct cultural events such as cultural festivals, competitions, lectures, and seminars, fora and symposia, set up exhibit during fiesta, events and other related activities; conduct periodic consultations with all stakeholders to identify grassroots based cultural concerns, issues and agenda; encourage the development of local cultural industries; conduct periodic inventory of local cultural objects and sites in coordination with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts; other concerned government agencies, NGAs, the academic and the private sector; and coordinate with existing Local Culture and Arts Councils, if any.

With all its provisions to raise the level of consciousness of the people on cultural values, conservation of historical and cultural heritage and resources, the EO takes effect on June 17, 2024.
