Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines — A Special Board of Trustees Meeting was held today, July 3, 2024 at CHED Board Room, UP Diliman, Quezon City for the adoption of CEB Resolution No. 276-2024 and formal declaration of the conversion of Marinduque State College into a University to be known as the Marinduque State University (MarSU).

Additionally, the appointment of Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta as 1st University President pursuant to CEB Res. No. 276-004 and RA 11334 was also confirmed.

Along with the transition was the approval of the MarSU Vision-Mission, Core Values, Logo, Hymn, and other rebranding elements as well as the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of Republic Act 11334.

On the other hand, the academic and administrative matters comprised the approval of the final list of graduating and honor students for Academic Year 2023-2024 and approval of budget allocation for the President’s Investiture.

Moreover, the appointment of personnel below salary grade 18, Security Service Contract with El Cid Security Agency, Inc.; and Memorandum of Agreement with DOST MIMAROPA re. implementation of the project titled “Sea Cucumber Hatchery for Sustainable Aquaculture” were also confirmed.
